FAQ

Answers to common questions about optionstats.io.

Which options transactions can I record?

You can record STO (Sell To Open), BTC (Buy To Close), BTO (Buy To Open), and STC (Sell To Close) transactions with strike, expiration, premium, costs, status, currency, and comments.

Can I import Interactive Brokers data?

Yes. There are three import methods: (1) Flex XML – upload a Flex Query report as XML, (2) Auto-Sync – enter your token and QueryId once for automatic fetching via the Flex Web Service, (3) CSV – import your Interactive Brokers Activity Statement as CSV. Duplicates are skipped and matching BTC transactions close open STO positions. Combinations are partially recognized automatically, but can be updated manually at any time.

Are different options strategies supported?

Yes. The following strategies are supported: Bull Put Spread, Bear Put Spread, Bull Call Spread, Bear Call Spread, Cash-Secured Put, Covered Call, Long Call, Long Put, Short Strangle, Long Straddle, Iron Condor, Iron Butterfly, Butterfly Spread, Calendar Spread, Roll, Vertical Spread, Volatility Strategy, Wheel. You can assign them manually or they are detected automatically on import.

Are different currencies supported?

Yes. optionstats.io supports USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, JPY, CAD, AUD, NZD, HKD, SGD, SEK, NOK, and DKK. Each position is recorded in the chosen currency and statistics are displayed separately per currency.

How much does optionstats.io cost?

We try to keep our prices as low as possible. We offer a free trial period with all features. You can find all current prices and plans on our pricing page.

Are my data publicly visible?

No. Transactions, portfolios, and statistics are filtered per user and are only visible after login. We do not share any data with third parties. All data is transmitted via SSL encryption and processed and stored in compliance with GDPR.

How is bound capital calculated?

Bound capital is calculated for open Cash-Secured Puts (STO Put) and Spreads. For puts it is (strike − premium received) × 100 × contracts. For spreads you typically need to deposit capital equal to the maximum possible loss. This is calculated as the width of the spread × 100 × number of contracts (adjusted for the net premium). This capital serves as collateral for the maximum risk of the position.

Can I record transactions manually?

Yes. On the transactions page you can add individual options trades, stocks, and dividends manually using the "Add Transaction" button – including strike, expiration, premium, costs, status, and currency.

Which import method should I use?

Flex XML (recommended): Configure a Flex Query in IBKR once and upload the report as XML – robust and language-independent. Auto-Sync: Enter your token and QueryId for automatic daily fetching – convenient after setup. CSV: Easiest for the first import, but the Activity Statement language must match your setting.

What do the statistics metrics mean?

The statistics page shows monthly profit/loss, total profit, total costs, average trade duration, and win rate (number of winners vs. losers). All metrics are displayed separately per currency.

Can I delete my account?

You can delete all your transactions yourself. If you want to completely remove your account, please send us an email at info@optionstats.io. We will then delete all your data and the account.

Can I export my data?

Yes. On the Export page you can export your options, combinations, stocks, dividends and statistics as CSV, XML or Excel (XLSX). For CSV/XML you get one file per data type; for Excel a single workbook with one sheet per selected data type. CSV files are Excel-friendly (UTF-8) and dates are output as YYYY-MM-DD.

I use a broker that is not supported. What can I do?

Get in touch with us and we will check whether we can connect your broker. We are very happy to do so.
